Pakistan top-order batter Gull Feroza has been fined 10 percent of her match fee for breaching the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during Pakistan’s ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
According to the ICC, Feroza breached Article 2.8 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The article covers “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”
Feroza Shows Dissent After LBW Decision
The incident occurred on the first delivery of the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings.
Kary Chan dismissed the right-handed batter leg before wicket (lbw). Feroza then showed dissent and gestured towards her bat to indicate that she had edged the ball.
As a result, the ICC imposed a fine equal to 10 percent of her match fee. Feroza also received one demerit point.
This marked her second offence within a 24-month period. Her total has now reached two demerit points during that period.
Player Accepts ICC Sanction
The 27-year-old accepted both the offence and the sanction proposed by ICC International Panel of Match Referees member Supriya Rani Das.
Her acceptance meant that the authorities did not need to hold a formal hearing.
On-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, third umpire Shivani Mishra and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir upheld the charge.
Four Demerit Points Can Lead to a Ban
Under the ICC Code of Conduct, accumulating four demerit points can result in a suspension.
Depending on the format that comes first, the player can receive a ban of one Test match, two ODIs or two T20Is.
Therefore, Feroza will need to avoid further disciplinary breaches during the remainder of her 24-month monitoring period.
Feroza’s Previous Offence
Feroza’s first offence during the current 24-month period came in Pakistan’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Australia.
On that occasion, officials found her guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.
The offence involved Article 2.2, which covers the abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, fixtures and fittings during an international match.
The incident happened in the second over of Pakistan’s innings. After her dismissal, Feroza reacted by aggressively throwing her bat and gloves near the team dugout.
With her latest sanction, Feroza now has two demerit points within the ICC’s 24-month disciplinary period.
