Pakistan Announce Probable Squad for 3rd Test Against England

Pakistan has finalized a 12-player probable squad for the third and final Test against England at Edgbaston, with as many as three players in contention to make their Test debuts.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori is expected to feature in the playing XI and is set to earn his first Test cap. The 23-year-old Karachi-born player was part of Pakistan’s Test squads for the West Indies and England series but did not feature in the Caribbean series or the first two Tests against England.

All-rounder Muhammad Imran Randhawa is also a strong candidate to make his Test debut. The 29-year-old has scored 2,255 runs, including two centuries, in 58 first-class matches and has taken 110 wickets with his medium-fast bowling.

Pakistan could also hand a debut to 21-year-old pacer Razaullah if the team decides to field four fast bowlers. The Mardan-born right-arm fast bowler made his first-class debut for Peshawar in 2025 and has picked up 30 wickets in eight matches.

Meanwhile, Arafat Minhas is in contention if Pakistan opts to play only one specialist spinner. The 21-year-old left-arm spinner and all-rounder from Multan has already represented Pakistan in three ODIs and four T20Is.

Pakistan heads into the Edgbaston Test trailing 2-0 in the three-match series after heavy defeats at Headingley and Lord’s.

The team lost the opening Test inside three days by an innings and 103 runs. England posted 409 in its first innings before bowling Pakistan out for 171 and 135.

Pakistan then suffered a 194-run defeat at Lord’s. England scored 290 in the first innings before dismissing Pakistan for 110 and later added 208 in the second innings to set a target of 389.

Pakistan was bowled out for 194 in the chase, allowing England to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
