Pakistan Considers Age Limits and New Rules for Social Media Use

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has decided to consult relevant stakeholders on further strengthening social media regulations amid concerns over child exploitation and inappropriate content, sources said.

According to sources, the ministry is considering a proposal to set a minimum age for social media use.

The meeting will also discuss measures to address inappropriate content shared in the name of family vlogging.

Sources said a proposal to restrict or ban certain social media platforms may also be considered. Several countries have introduced restrictions on social media platforms in recent years.
