Rawalpindi Traffic Plan Issued Ahead of Pakistan-Sri Lanka Tri-Series

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi traffic police have issued a traffic management plan ahead of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka tri-series.

The plan aims to reduce congestion and facilitate cricket fans and commuters. The first practice match will take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 6, 2026. City Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said traffic would be diverted for short periods during team movements.

Vehicles travelling from Islamabad to Rawalpindi will be diverted from Faizabad towards Islamabad Expressway.

The diversion will remain in place during team movements. Traffic travelling from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad will also face diversions. Officials will divert traffic in stages at three different locations.

More than 315 traffic police officers and personnel will manage traffic during the matches.

They will also monitor alternative routes and help keep traffic moving.

The traffic police have arranged three designated parking areas for cricket spectators.

Officials will also provide regular traffic updates.

Commuters can receive updates through official social media platforms and FM radio.

CTO Farhan Aslam urged motorists and cricket fans to cooperate with traffic officials.
