PSL 12 Dates Confirmed as Tournament Set for March 18 to May 2, 2027

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held from March 18 to May 2, 2027.

The tournament window was finalised after consultations with key stakeholders. The decision followed the PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, which was attended by owners and representatives of all eight franchises.

PSL 11 Set New Records

The upcoming season will build on a landmark 2026 edition.

Eight teams competed in the league for the first time. The PCB also introduced a player auction, replacing the previous draft system.

The PSL 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium attracted a record crowd of 32,461 spectators.

Peshawar Zalmi won the title after defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets on May 3, 2026. The victory ended Zalmi’s nine-year wait for another PSL title.

Direct Signings and Auction Ahead

With the dates confirmed, several key milestones will follow before PSL 12 begins.

These include direct signings, retention announcements, the trade window and the player auction.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league’s growing potential.

“HBL PSL 11 showed the world what this league is capable of – thrilling moments that had the whole nation transfixed, record crowds, record broadcasts. HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar further,” he said.

Naqvi added that the PCB was committed to delivering another successful season and looked forward to seeing all eight franchises compete for the title.

PSL 12 to Bring New Excitement

PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the previous season had changed expectations surrounding the league.

“Last season changed what people expect from this league and we intend to meet every one of those expectations in 2027,” he said.

Naseer added that the announcement of the tournament dates was only the first step.

“Direct signings, retentions, the trade window and the auction will each bring their own excitement in the months ahead,” he said.

He also said eight teams and their squads were preparing to compete for the title, while millions of fans in Pakistan and around the world were already looking forward to the new season.

“Naye Daur ka Aghaaz ho chuka hai. #NewEra,” Naseer said.

The PCB will announce further details about the schedule, venues, player auction and ticketing arrangements in due course.
