ISLAMABAD: Residents of Gulberg Greens raised alarm on Thursday evening after spotting a Bengal tiger and its two cubs in B Block, Street 15.
The sighting prompted the housing society’s security teams to increase surveillance and launch efforts to locate the animals.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), residents and Gulberg Greens security management confirmed the sighting. Security officials advised families to remain indoors until authorities safely traced the tiger and its cubs.
Officials also urged residents, especially children, to avoid going outside. They asked people to report any new sightings immediately and warned them not to approach the animals.
Photos and videos of the tiger and its cubs quickly circulated in community groups. Security personnel continued monitoring the area while a wildlife team joined the search.
Residents also raised concerns about how a potentially dangerous wild animal entered a populated residential area.
Syed Hasnain told APP that the incident raised questions about keeping dangerous and exotic animals in residential communities. He stressed the need for authorities to protect both residents and wildlife.
The presence of two cubs has added to concerns. A mother tiger may become aggressive if she feels that her young are under threat.
Gulberg Greens security management has engaged a wildlife team to locate the tiger and its cubs. The team will work to safely handle the animals and prevent any danger to residents.
