Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has praised Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for rejecting India’s attempt to link Pakistan with terrorism.
Bilawal said Ibrahim had exposed what he described as Indian propaganda during an interview with an Indian television channel.
The PPP chairman also said India now faces international exposure over its allegations against Pakistan.
Anwar Ibrahim Rejects Link to Pahalgam Attack
Anwar Ibrahim rejected an attempt by an Indian interviewer to link Pakistan with the April 2025 Pahalgam attack.
The Malaysian prime minister said his country’s security agencies had not told him that the Pakistani state was involved in terrorism.
He also said no evidence had been presented to him to establish such a connection.
Ibrahim made the remarks during an interview with Indian broadcaster NDTV on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Bilawal Says India Stands Exposed
Reacting to Ibrahim’s comments, Bilawal praised the Malaysian leader.
In a post on X, the former foreign minister said Ibrahim was “exposing Indian propaganda” during the interview.
“The truth is India started a war based on a lie and lost miserably. India now stands exposed internationally,” Bilawal said.
He also urged India to honour its commitments made during the ceasefire.
Bilawal called for discussions on “all friction points” between Pakistan and India.
“So we can together bring peace, prosperity and stability to our region,” he added.
Malaysian PM Questions Evidence Against Pakistan
During the interview, the Indian interviewer asked Ibrahim about the Pahalgam attack.
The interviewer attempted to establish a connection between Pakistan and the incident. However, Ibrahim said he had not received evidence linking the Pakistani state to terrorism.
He also said Malaysian security agencies had not informed him about any Pakistani state involvement.
His remarks therefore rejected attempts to establish Islamabad’s involvement in the attack.
Ibrahim Calls Israeli Actions in Gaza State Terrorism
The Malaysian prime minister also faced a question about Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The interviewer asked whether Israel’s actions amounted to state terrorism.
Ibrahim answered in the affirmative and described the actions as “state terrorism.”
Pakistan and India Conflict After Pahalgam Attack
The Pahalgam attack took place on April 22, 2025, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The attack killed 26 people, most of them tourists.
India accused Pakistan of involvement. Islamabad rejected the allegation and called for a neutral investigation.
India later launched military strikes against Pakistan on May 6 and 7. The attacks triggered an armed conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
Pakistan responded with military action during the 87-hour conflict.
According to the supplied account, Pakistan’s armed forces shot down eight Indian fighter jets, including French-made Rafale aircraft. They also brought down dozens of drones.
Ceasefire Brings End to Fighting
A US-brokered ceasefire later ended the fighting between Pakistan and India.
Pakistan has since urged both countries to pursue dialogue and resolve their outstanding disputes.
Bilawal’s latest remarks also called for renewed engagement between the two neighbours.
He said India should now honour its ceasefire commitments and agree to discuss outstanding issues.
Such dialogue, he said, could help promote peace, prosperity and stability across the region.
