Disney and Netflix Sign New Deal to Bring Popular Shows and Movies to Netflix

LOS ANGELES: Disney Entertainment and Netflix have signed a new licensing agreement that will bring several Disney television shows and movies to Netflix.

According to Variety, the nonexclusive deal covers selected Disney-owned programming.

The first major release will be Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Its first two seasons will arrive globally on Netflix on October 4.

The agreement includes Disney+ originals, ABC shows, and films from Pixar and 20th Century Studios.

Netflix will carry the titles for three months. Viewers will be able to watch the first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians before its third season premieres on Disney+ on November 20.

Will Trent and Other Series

The deal also includes ABC’s Will Trent.

Seasons 1 through 4 of the procedural drama will arrive globally on Netflix on November 3.

Other library titles include Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives, and Fresh Off the Boat. Availability may vary by region.

Ice Age Films Coming to Netflix

The movie portion of the agreement covers titles from 20th Century Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Pixar.

All five original theatrical Ice Age films will begin streaming globally on Netflix on October 4.

The release comes ahead of the franchise’s next theatrical film, Ice Age: Boiling Point, which is scheduled to hit cinemas in February 2027.

The Netflix deal will give viewers access to the earlier films before the new installment arrives.

More Disney and Pixar Movies

Additional Disney and Pixar movies will join Netflix in early 2027.

Confirmed titles include Pixar’s Soul, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon, and the science-fiction film Elio.

The agreement will not remove the titles from Disney’s streaming platforms.

Licensed movies and series will remain available on Disney+ and Hulu while also appearing on Netflix.

For Netflix, the deal adds several established franchises and popular series to its library.

For Disney, the arrangement provides another distribution platform while allowing the company to keep its titles on its own streaming services.

The titles will arrive on different dates rather than as a single global catalog release.
