Iran Official Claims Americans Wrote Shehbaz Sharif’s Tweets

Iranian lawmaker Mohsen Zanganeh has questioned Pakistan’s approach to mediating between Iran and the United States, alleging that Americans wrote Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s posts on social media.

Zanganeh, who heads Iran’s Parliament’s Economic Commission, said some neighbouring countries had stepped forward to help broker peace. However, he described their mediation efforts as disappointing.

“The first time he tweeted, it was forwarded by [US Envoy] Witkoff. Even their tweet was written by the Americans,” Zanganeh said.

Pakistan Continues Efforts to Facilitate Talks

Pakistan has been working to bring Iran and the United States closer to an agreement amid the ongoing war.

Islamabad has engaged with both sides as part of efforts to advance negotiations, reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.

However, Zanganeh’s remarks have raised questions about Pakistan’s mediation approach. His allegation that Americans wrote the prime minister’s social media posts has not been independently verified.

At the time of publication, the Ministry of Information had not publicly responded to the claim.
