JazzWorld has partnered with Google for Digital Pasban, a national online safety initiative for Pakistani families.
The programme aims to help families navigate the digital world with greater confidence. It will also provide practical safety tools and localized guidance.
Google launched the initiative with Tech Valley as a key partner.
Digital Pasban Targets 200,000 Households
Digital Pasban aims to reach 200,000 households across Pakistan.
The programme will provide Urdu-language safety resources and instructional videos. Families will also receive parental toolkits and access to safety clinics.
In addition, schools and local communities will take part in outreach activities.
The initiative brings together several public and private organizations. These include JazzWorld, Google, PTA, Tech Valley, Beaconhouse School System, and HUM Network.
Relevant government ministries are also supporting the programme.
JazzWorld Focuses on Digital Awareness
Through the partnership, JazzWorld will promote responsible and safe digital participation.
The company aims to help families understand both the benefits and risks of digital services.
JazzWorld CEO Aamir Ibrahim said the company’s responsibility goes beyond connecting people.
He said families also need support to understand the digital environment. Better awareness can help them make informed and responsible choices.
According to Ibrahim, Digital Pasban will provide practical tools and guidance to parents and children.
Google Highlights Child Online Safety
Google’s Cluster Director, Farhan Qureshi, highlighted Pakistan’s growing digital ecosystem.
He said more people now use the internet to learn, create, and connect.
However, he stressed that families must also protect children in the digital space.
Qureshi said online safety should support children’s digital participation. The goal is not to prevent children from using the internet.
He added that strong partnerships can help families build digital literacy and use online services with confidence.
Four Key Digital Safety Pillars
Digital Pasban focuses on four key areas of online safety.
The first is Google Family Link. It gives parents tools to manage screen time, approve apps, filter content, and monitor device locations.
YouTube forms the second pillar. The platform offers age-appropriate settings and time-management tools for younger users.
The third pillar is Be Internet Awesome. The programme helps children aged seven to 12 develop digital citizenship skills.
Finally, Gemini supports responsible AI use through safeguards for minors. Its Guided Learning feature also aims to support safer and more structured learning.
Safety Education Reaches Communities
The initiative will take online safety education directly to communities.
Broadcast media and SMS alerts will help spread safety messages. Partner social media campaigns will also support awareness efforts.
Moreover, schools will host town halls and other activities.
Parent and guardian safety clinics will form a key part of the programme. Families can learn how to identify online risks and respond effectively.
These sessions will also help parents support children during their digital journeys.
Building on Earlier Digital Education Programmes
Digital Pasban builds on Google’s wider digital education efforts in Pakistan.
Through Digital Safar, more than 300,000 students have received digital citizenship training.
The programme has also trained more than 5,000 educators.
Meanwhile, a Punjab education partnership has reached 1.5 million students through Google for Education.
Digital Pasban now aims to expand this work by giving more Pakistani families practical tools for safer and more responsible online participation.
