Passport delivery counters across Pakistan will remain open every Saturday for the next two months, allowing citizens to collect their ready passports.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports announced that the counters will operate from 8am to 4pm every Saturday.
Citizens can collect their ready passports on Saturdays in addition to regular working days.
Passports Must Be Collected Within Six Months
The department also reminded citizens to collect their passports on time.
Authorities warned that they will dispose of passports that remain uncollected for more than six months. Officials will follow the applicable government policy when disposing of these documents.
The Saturday service aims to give citizens more flexibility and reduce pressure on passport collection centres during regular working days.
Doorstep Passport Delivery Service
The announcement comes months after the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports launched a doorstep passport delivery service.
Under the service, applicants can receive their passports at their registered addresses instead of visiting passport offices or collection centres.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the department to introduce the service as part of efforts to improve public convenience and streamline passport delivery.
Cashless Payments at Passport Offices
Earlier, Naqvi had also announced the rollout of cashless transactions at passport offices across Pakistan.
The initiative aims to make payments faster and reduce the need for applicants to wait in long queues.
The interior minister said applicants would no longer need to stand in long lines or wait for hours to make payments.
He described the move as another step toward making public services faster, more transparent and more convenient for citizens.
Saturday Timings for Passport Collection
Citizens who have ready passports can visit the delivery counters on Saturdays between 8am and 4pm during the two-month period.
However, people should ensure they collect their passports within six months to avoid disposal under government policy.
