KARACHI: Police have held Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Fida Janwari responsible for administrative negligence in an assault on a family in Defence, following the completion of an inquiry report.
Inquiry Recommends Action Against SSP
According to the inquiry report, authorities have recommended quashing the case previously registered against the affected family.
The report classified the case as “B Class” and recommended action against four policemen from District Korangi.
It also recommended departmental proceedings against Darakhshan SHO Rashid Ali, SIO Imran, and Mobile Officer Aftab Mangi.
Fresh FIR Recommended
Furthermore, the inquiry recommended registering a fresh FIR based on the victimized family’s complaint.
The proposed case would name two women and a man who appear clearly in video footage of the assault.
According to sources, the people seen assaulting the family are close relatives of SSP Fida Janwari.
SSP Accused of Administrative Negligence
The inquiry report held SSP Fida Janwari responsible for administrative negligence in connection with the incident.
It recommended action against him under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020.
The recommendation follows an inquiry into the police response and handling of the case.
Report Sent to AIG Karachi
Sources said authorities conducted the inquiry transparently before finalizing the report.
The finalized report has now been submitted to Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi for further action.
Authorities are expected to decide the next steps based on the inquiry’s recommendations.
