LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Tom Cruise surprised an employee when he stopped to check on her after apparently mistaking her phone doomscrolling for sadness.
A widely shared TikTok video posted by a woman identified as Klementina shows her sitting on a step in what appears to be a workplace break area.
According to the video, Cruise noticed the woman hunched over her phone while passing an open doorway.
The Jerry Maguire star then entered the room to check on her, apparently believing she was upset.
Klementina was surprised by the unexpected visit and initially took time to realise that Cruise was trying to get her attention.
She eventually reassured the actor that she was fine.
The brief encounter became their first meeting before Cruise left the room.
Klementina later shared the moment on social media with the caption: “When you are doomscrolling at work and Tom Cruise decides it’s your day!”
She said she was barely able to speak after realising who had approached her.
Klementina later managed to take a photograph with Cruise when he passed by again.
