Two Pakistani Nationals Killed in Gun Attack in Johannesburg

JOHANNESBURG: Two Pakistani nationals were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The victims were identified as Saadat Balhar, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin, and his employee Rizwan, who was reportedly from Lahore.

According to reports, Saadat and Rizwan were returning home after closing their mobile phone shop when their vehicle came under attack near the Q Town area.

Both men died at the scene from their injuries.

South African police reached the scene and collected evidence as part of an investigation into the shooting.

Police have not yet identified the attackers or established a motive for the killings.

The incident comes around two months after four Pakistani nationals were also shot and killed in South Africa, according to Saadat’s family.

The family said two of those victims were Saadat’s cousins.

The latest killings have raised fresh concerns among the Pakistani community in South Africa over the safety of its members.
