Federal Government Orders Sindh to Probe MDCAT Paper Leak Complaints

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has contacted the Sindh government over complaints about the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

The government has asked Sindh to conduct an independent and transparent inquiry into the complaints.

The MDCAT serves as a key entrance test for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges in Pakistan.

PM&DC Seeks Investigation

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has written to the Sindh health minister.

The council asked the provincial government to investigate allegations linked to the examination.

It also directed Sindh authorities to complete the inquiry within two weeks. The provincial government must then submit a report to the relevant authorities.

Complaints Surface Over Paper Leak

The development follows complaints on social media about an alleged MDCAT question paper leak.

Several lawmakers have also raised concerns about the credibility and transparency of the examination.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Health expressed serious concern over the alleged leak.

He also urged the PM&DC to conduct a transparent investigation into the matter.

Health Minister Seeks Report

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal also took notice of the complaints last week.

He asked the PM&DC to submit a report within 15 days.

The latest inquiry will seek to establish the facts behind the allegations. It will also examine concerns about the transparency of the MDCAT process.

The authorities are expected to take further action after reviewing the inquiry report.
