RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed eight suspected terrorists during three intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations targeted individuals it described as Indian-sponsored terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan.

Five Suspected Terrorists Killed in Quetta

Security forces intercepted an attempt by suspected terrorists to establish a roadblock in the Panjpai area of Quetta district, which authorities said was intended to disrupt local traffic.

The operation resulted in the killing of five suspected terrorists, according to the ISPR.

Two Killed in Nushki Operation

In a separate operation in Nushki district, security forces located and cleared a suspected terrorist hideout.

The ISPR said an intense exchange of fire followed, leaving two suspected terrorists dead. Security personnel also recovered weapons and ammunition from the site.

One Suspected Terrorist Killed in Khuzdar

During the third operation in Khuzdar district, security forces targeted another suspected terrorist hideout.

The operation resulted in the killing of one suspected terrorist. Security forces also recovered approximately 490 kilograms of explosives, the ISPR said.

Search Operations Continue

Security forces are conducting sanitisation operations in the affected areas to locate any remaining suspects, according to the statement.

The ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism efforts under the government’s “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

The military’s media wing said the campaign would continue to counter what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism in Pakistan.
