The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the official logo, brand identity and theme for the 2027 Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup at a launch ceremony in Johannesburg.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia under the theme “Three Nations, One Heartbeat,” which celebrates the unity, diversity and shared spirit of the three host countries.
The new logo features the iconic World Cup trophy at its center, surrounded by vibrant, multicolored segments forming a circular design. It also carries the text “ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup SA·ZIM·NAM·2027.”
The visual identity draws inspiration from the traditional African wire bowl, a symbol of community, hospitality and unity across Southern Africa.
Its color palette includes shades named Zimbabwe Chilli, African Root, Fynbos Pop, Namib Dune, Harare Dawn and Two Oceans, representing the cultures and landscapes of the three host nations.
The tournament’s main campaign, “Make the Circle Bigger,” reflects the hosts’ ambition to expand cricket’s reach and welcome fans from around the world into the circle of African culture and passion for the game.
The event will also embrace the African philosophy of Ubuntu, meaning “I am because we are. The concept highlights compassion, togetherness and human connection.
The campaign also celebrates the region’s cultural diversity, 29 officially recognized languages and shared love of cricket.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the unveiling as an important milestone in preparations for the tournament.
“This marks an exciting milestone on the road to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027,” Shah said.
He added that the launch of the host cities and tournament brand would help build global excitement for one of cricket’s biggest events.
“The return of this prestigious tournament to Africa after 24 years is a landmark moment for cricket. We are confident that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will deliver an unforgettable event, showcasing the warmth, passion and rich diversity that make this region truly unique,” he said.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said the World Cup’s return to Africa would celebrate the continent’s cultures, landscapes and strong connection with cricket.
“The vibrant brand unveiled today reflects the energy, ambition and spirit of the event, while every host city offers fans a unique opportunity to experience the warmth and diversity that make Africa truly memorable,” Gupta said.
He added that the tournament was expected to leave a lasting legacy by helping grow the sport and inspiring future generations of cricketers across the region.
The 2027 World Cup will be the first men’s ODI World Cup held in Africa since South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya jointly hosted the tournament in 2003.
The upcoming edition will feature 14 teams and will be played across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
