QUETTA: Security forces killed nine terrorists during two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Wadh districts, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations took place on October 26 following reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian proxy, Fitna al-Hindustan.
In the first operation in Kachhi district, security forces raided a terrorist hideout after an exchange of fire. The operation resulted in the killing of seven India-sponsored terrorists, the ISPR said.
Meanwhile, security forces conducted a separate operation in Wadh district after tracking and intercepting the movement of terrorists. An intense exchange of fire left two more India-backed terrorists dead, according to the statement.
Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the terrorists killed in both operations.
Sanitisation Operations Underway
The ISPR said sanitisation operations were underway in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists.
It added that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam would continue at full pace. The Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan approved the initiative.
According to the military’s media wing, the campaign aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan.
Pakistan Reports Rising Militant Attacks
Pakistan has experienced a sharp increase in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. The attacks have particularly affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pakistan recorded its highest monthly number of militant attacks in 12 years during September 2026.
Islamabad has repeatedly urged Kabul to prevent militant organisations from using Afghan territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
Pakistan maintains that the Afghan Taliban regime has failed to take effective action against groups responsible for attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians.
