The Sindh government has officially launched the Sindh E-Sports Championship 2026. More than 1,000 teams will compete for a total prize pool of Rs. 3 million.
The government inaugurated the second edition of the championship during a ceremony at Liaquat Library on Monday.
PUBG Mobile, Tekken 8 and FC 27 Featured
The championship will feature several popular gaming titles. These include PUBG Mobile, Tekken 8 and FC 27.
Universities across Sindh will host the qualifying rounds. Meanwhile, prominent shopping malls in Karachi will host the semi-finals.
Organizers will hold the grand final at Expo Centre Karachi during the first week of October.
Officials Attend Opening Ceremony
Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Sindh Sports Secretary Munawar Ali Mahesar attended the opening ceremony as chief guests.
The ceremony also honoured 24 boxers, ju-jitsu athletes and coaches. These individuals delivered notable performances at national-level championships.
Shah said Sindh’s boxers and ju-jitsu athletes have earned recognition at national and international levels. He added that recognising their achievements would encourage more young people to participate in sports.
A New Platform for Young Gamers
Shah described the E-Sports Championship as an important platform for young people. The event forms part of the “The Next Era of Champions” initiative.
“Sindh E-Sports Championship is a source of pride for young people and an excellent opportunity for them to demonstrate their talent,” Shah said.
He added that the Sindh government was creating opportunities beyond traditional sports. The province also wants to support young people in technology and e-sports.
Shah further praised Mahesar’s efforts to organise sporting activities throughout the year. He said the government was also working to identify and support talent at the grassroots level.
