KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has said the government will take action against those involved in the Mir Raza case, the attack on Karachi University professor Dr Arif Saqi and the DHA woman assault case by SSP Fida Hussain Janwari’s relatives, ARY News reported.
Talking about the Mir Raza case, Zia Lanjar said he appeared before the commission and there was no ill intention on the part of the Sindh government.
He said joint investigation teams (JITs) are always formed in Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) cases.
Regarding the attack on Professor Dr Arif Saqi, the Sindh home minister said the suspects involved would be arrested, regardless of how influential they were.
Zia Lanjar while referring to the DHA woman assault case said, “If Fida Hussain Janwari is also found to be involved, action will be taken against him as well.”
He said street crime had increased in Karachi over the past eight to 10 days. The suspects involved in street crimes and murders have been arrested, he added.
Zia Lanjar said he would also be seen patrolling Karachi himself.
The Sindh home minister said the rehabilitation of drug addicts was an important issue. He said work was being carried out against drugs in Sindh and drugs weighing tonnes had been seized.
He said the Sindh government would cooperate with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
Talking about the Katcha areas, Zia Lanjar said the government would not give Katcha land to any tribal chief or feudal lord.
He said the law and order situation in the Katcha areas was better.
