PTI MNA Ali Muhammad Khan Calls for Immediate Talks to Avert Crisis

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ali Muhammad Khan has called on the government and his party to immediately resume negotiations, warning that continued confrontation could harm the country.

In a post on X, the PTI leader urged both sides to restart dialogue without delay.

“Talks should be started today to save the country from destruction,” Ali Muhammad Khan said.

His appeal came as the PTI long march towards Islamabad reached Karak after negotiations with the federal government failed to break the deadlock.

PTI Long March Moves Forward

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had set out from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat with the PTI convoy.

Afridi said he would announce the party’s next course of action on Thursday, October 8, when the convoy reaches Khairabad.

He later announced that the caravan had camped in Karak for the night.

The march comes amid heightened tensions between PTI and the federal government following the collapse of talks between the two sides.

Naqvi Meets KP Governor

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in Peshawar to discuss constitutional measures aimed at addressing terrorism and the security situation in the province.

The meeting also discussed the constitutional role of the Governor House if governor’s rule or emergency is imposed in KP.

Officials expressed concern over what they described as a change in the provincial government’s position after an agreement had reportedly been reached during negotiations.

The possibility of terrorists exploiting the situation during the long march was also discussed.

The meeting also examined the use of provincial government resources by the chief minister and ministers during the march.

Officials described the use of helicopters and other government resources for the march as a violation of court decisions.

KP Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police also attended the meeting.
