ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has carried out routine cleaning and disinfection of water reservoirs at G-10 Water Works to maintain hygiene and protect the quality of drinking water supplied to residents.
A CDA spokesperson said the authority remained committed to providing a reliable supply of clean drinking water to Islamabad residents.
He said reservoir cleaning formed part of the CDA’s regular maintenance and disinfection programme.
The authority is also working to improve the existing water supply infrastructure and strengthen the distribution network.
The CDA aims to reduce water losses and meet the growing demand of the capital’s population.
CDA Plans Long-Term Water Management
The spokesperson said the authority was working to increase water storage capacity and explore additional sustainable water sources.
The CDA is also promoting efficient use and conservation of available water resources.
Rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge are among the measures included in the authority’s long-term water management strategy.
The spokesperson urged residents, educational institutions, housing societies and commercial establishments to use water responsibly.
He advised people to repair leaking taps and pipelines and report water leakages to the relevant authorities for timely action.
The CDA also urged citizens not to dump solid waste, chemicals, oil or sewage into drains, nullahs and watercourses.
Such waste can pollute water resources and affect the quality of available water.
The spokesperson said the CDA would continue maintaining its water supply facilities and promoting responsible water use to support a sustainable water supply for Islamabad.
