Mustafa Kamal Clashes With reporter Over PIMS Newborn Fire Tragedy

During a press briefing in Islamabad, Health Minister Mustafa Kamal responded angrily to an elderly citizen who raised concerns about the tragic fire at PIMS Hospital.

The citizen urged authorities to register an FIR against those responsible for the incident. He also expressed regret over the tragedy.

Kamal then asked the man to speak directly to him instead of standing at a distance while a video was being recorded.

“You, too, are simply standing there getting a video recorded; come over here and talk to me,” Kamal said.

The elderly man responded that he had no intention of getting a video recorded.

Fourteen Newborns Died in PIMS Hospital Fire

The incident followed a devastating fire in the nursery ward of the federally run PIMS Hospital. The blaze claimed the lives of 14 newborns.

Grieving parents later viewed the bodies of their children and were overwhelmed with sorrow.

A woman at the hospital claimed that the nursery unit was locked when the fire started. She alleged that no doctors or staff members were present in the ward at the time.

She said the fire harmed only the infants, while no staff members suffered injuries.

Parents Demand Accountability

The father of one of the deceased newborns accused the hospital management of failing to help the families.

He claimed that the management closed the doors instead of providing assistance during the tragedy.

The devastating incident has sparked public anger and renewed calls for a thorough investigation. Families are demanding accountability and action against anyone found responsible.
